MacBook Pro trackpad not clicking

Last week I ran into an issue where a user’s M1 MacBook Pro trackpad stopped clicking. It still allowed for moving the cursor, just no click. If you bump into this issue I found an article over at setapp.com that provided some very helpful troubleshooting suggestions. In my particular case the issue was solved by installing Apple software updates in System Preferences -> Software Update.
